Class Instructor
Joe Francis
Joe Francis began a career as a ship deck officer, graduating from Massachusetts Maritime Academy in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation. During the course of his career he served as a Chief Mate, International Safety Management System Compliance Officer, and Shipboard Security Officer. Since coming ashore and moving to Texas, he has pursued a love of firearms and instruction in his home town of Boerne, Texas. In 2020, Joe because an NRA Certified Pistol and Rifle Instructor, as well as a Certified Range Safety Officer. In 2021, he began the journey to become a Tom Givens certified Rangemaster instructor, earning Top Shot in the April 2021 Rangemaster Instructor Development course. He has since earned Advanced and Master Rangemaster Instructor certifications. Joe has recently completed training courses with Nationally recognized firearms instructors including Jason Pike of Frogman Tactical, Karl Ericson from Tactical Rifleman, Paraclete Consulting Group, Green Ops, and Tim Reedy of TDR Training.
Currently, Joe is active in IPSC 2-Gun, Old Eighteen Defense Run N Gun, IDPA, and USPSA Competition shooting. He is an IDPA Certified Range Safety Officer with a Sharpshooter Classification. He is an active Cubmaster for Pack 233, Eagle Scout, and a member of the Alamo Area Boy Scouts Shooting Sports Committee.
